Back to Moonta Bay & Simms Cove on the Yorke Peninsula here in South Australia, part of the Copper Coast.
Joseph "Curly Joe" arrived in 1853 (or so it is believed) method is not clear. Although, it was not as a convict. (side note: South Australia was a settlers colony)
Here he married Blanche Martin (alias Bianco Martino), and the rest is history.
The original dwelling that he and his family lived in is still there.
Anyway, took some photos at sunset in the bay that has our name.
The sign of the Cove of the family |
Down on the sounds looking out over the gulf with the timbers of an old pier from times gone by |
Looking back down Simms Cove, back towards Moonta Bay |

Some seagulls standing on the posts catching the last rays of sun |
This is the same as above, but I've tweeked the colour a bit to get a nice 'red' sunset |
Almost there |
A Simms Cove crepuscular |
Finally, a memorial stone of Joseph & Blance Simms in the Old Moonta Cemetery |
